SELU- GALANA KULALU IRRIGATION PROJECT
The Secretary for Land Reclamation, Climate Resilience, and Irrigation Water Management, @Tanui K Joel, today assessed the readiness of private investor SELU to commence seed maize harvesting on the first phase of 1,500 acres at the Galana Kulalu Irrigation Project. The harvesting, scheduled to begin in one week, marks a significant step in actualizing the Galana dream.
The State Department, through the National Irrigation Authority, will continue to provide technical and infrastructural support to ensure the investor fully utilizes 10,000 acres under production in Phase One.
Speaking on behalf of the Principal Secretary for Irrigation, CPA Ephantus Kimotho Kimani - PS Secretary Tanui K Joel reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting private investors as key partners in enhancing food production and strengthening national food security.
