Corporate Agribusiness Gains Momentum Under National Irrigation Sector Investment Plan

Under the National Irrigation Sector Investment Plan (NISIP), Corporate Agribusiness has been established as the third strategic pathway aimed at scaling up corporate and commercial investments in irrigated agriculture.

This initiative seeks to promote commercially oriented irrigation projects that are either privately undertaken or implemented in partnership between the government, private sector, and local communities.

This morning, the Principal Secretary for Irrigation, CPA Ephantus Kimotho, CBS, met with a delegation from Valley Irrigation to explore the potential for Corporate Agribusiness in Kenya.

A major point of discussion was the importance of developing markets and establishing a supportive post-production environment. The aim is to ensure a transparent and predictable business climate, which is essential for sustainable investment and successful agribusiness operations.
