Household Irrigation Water Storage Programme
The Nationnal Irrigation Authority is implementing Household Water Harvesting Irrigation Programme by constructing small water pans for free to individual farmers in various counties across the country. The main objective of the project is to harvest surface runoff to help farmers carry out supplementary irrigation activities throughout the year. The pilot phase of the project is complete with 2,363 water pans in twelve (12) Counties already completed and being used by the farmers. Once the pilot phase is successful, the program will roll out to the remaining counties for implementation.
